The 2021 Herty Medalist Undergraduate Research Symposium will be held virtually on Friday, October 1 (1:30 pm- 5:00 pm). Registration for attendance and presentation is free.

The best undergraduate presentation winner will receive up to a $500 travel award to the American Chemical Society National Meeting and one-year American Chemical Society membership.
The Keynote speaker of the symposium will be the 2021 Herty Awardee Dr. Anne-Frances Miller, University of Kentucky (“How flavoenzymes can light our way to sustainable energy, without breaking the laws of thermodynamics”). Other confirmed speakers include Dr. Bryan Boudouris, Purdue University (“The chemistry and application of bioelectronic polymers”) and Dr. Michelle Gaines, Spelman College (“Conventional and creative ways to study the interfacial chemistry of polymer materials”). The symposium will also highlight undergraduate research presentations.
